Terri Chaves - President & CFO
With 30 years of experience in financial operations, contract administration, office management and public service, Terri serves as President and Chief Financial Officer of SCCI. Terri has also completed the Construction Quality Management for Contractors course provided by NAVFAC. Terri has authority that extends to all phases of the proposed work and particularly to the acceptance, in writing, of contracts and change orders. She has advisory responsibilities over all financial administration, contract administration, account and human resource functions, as well as financial reporting. The President stays informed with all aspects of office and project functions providing her with necessary knowledge to manage day-to-day financial needs and forecast strategic decisions of S. Chaves Construction, Inc.
Steve Chaves - Senior Vice President
Steve has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Steve has authority limited to performing the project work as described in the Principal Contract Plans and Specifications. He is authorized to act on behalf of S. Chaves Construction, Inc. to coordinate and schedule the activities of all subcontractors and suppliers. The Project Administrator will be responsible for assuring compliance with the requirements of Contract Quality Control and will enforce the Accident Prevention Policy. The Project Manager will be responsible for execution and coordination of schedule updates and changes, and will conduct weekly schedule meetings to review progress and scheduling issues. In addition, the Project Manager will oversee the control of all project documents and compliance with project specifications.
Derek Todd - Director of Operations
Derek has more than 20 years of experience in the heavy civil construction industry. A graduate from the Construction Management program at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Derek has served as Project Engineer, Project Manager, Senior Project/Area Manger, Estimator, and Director of Operations, throughout Northern and Central California. Derek's role at SCCI consists of coordinating daily crew allocation and equipment utilization with our Foremen, consulting the President and Senior Vice President on global company strategy, marketing, and growth, business and internal systems development, estimating and project management, as well as contract analysis and Change Order management.
James Meinert - Estimator & Project Manager
James has been working in the construction industry for more than 35 years. He has estimated, negotiated, and managed a variety of projects from a $4.6M paving repair single task order project at DDJC in Tracy, Ca., for the US Army Corps of Engineers, to a two-mile long 12" cast iron waterline replacement at Vandenberg AFB, and a $2M road grading and rubberized chip seal project at China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station. James is authorized to act on behalf of S. Chaves Construction, Inc. to coordinate, schedule and supervise the activities of all subcontractors and suppliers. The Project Manager will be responsible for assuring compliance with the requirements of Contract Quality Control and will enforce the Accident Prevention Policy
Michelle Roberts - Office Manager
Michelle coordinates daily with field staff regarding crew daily reports, timecard processing, company payroll, certified payroll, and labor compliance. She performs administrative support duties for both office and field staff. She also performs general administration duties which include reception, accounts payable, and DIR reporting.
